Arsene Wenger ‘Refuses’ To Allow Mourinho Sit With Him As Their Quarrel Continues

Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho appear to have reignited their longstanding feud in wonderfully pithy fashion at a Uefa coaches’ conference last week.

Spanish sport newspaper Marca has reported that Wenger refused to let Mourinho sit next to him during Sir Alex Ferguson’s opening speech in Nyon.

Arriving last in the conference room, the Manchester United manager allegedly asked if he could sit in one of the few empty seats when Wenger interjected: “No, it isn’t possible.”

Sniggers from a few of the less discreet managers reportedly followed Mourinho as he resolved his seating difficulties elsewhere, though they equally may have been directed at the ultra-sensitive Arsenal coach.

It is hardly the first time that the two men have stooped to such pettiness in a rivalry that is now well into its second decade.
